“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

It really depends on the individual. It is not healthy to starve yourself, ever and it won’t help you keep the weight off in the long run. Start supplimenting your junk food for produce, eat a balanced diet, cut out carbonated drinks and anything with the words “high fructose syrup” in the ingredients, and exersize.

You guys need to really quit worrying about numbers in diet and exercise. It is not all about numbers because the body has so many factors in it to perfectly say what is going to happen to each individual by a paragraph over the internet.

It matters how much you eat, how the chicken is cooked, how the chicken is raised, what types of steriods they induced the chicken with, what the chicken ate, how the french fries were cooked, if the potatoes were sprayed, when you eat, how often you eat, how long you exercise, the intensity of exercising.

Like I said too many factors, I could keep listing but it would be a waist of my time. Just eat healthier all in all and don’t think one meal a day is going to make a huge difference…it takes awhile but in the long run you will be much happier with yourself.
