How is it spelt racket or racquet ?

Im not sure how to spell it I’ve heard americans spell it racket And english people spell it racquet =/

thehairdude, if you will check a dictionary, both spellings of the word are accepted in America for the same thing.

And Americans do brutalize the English language. They claim to speak English, but yet they change the spellings of most of the words (it’s honour, not honor, colour, not color), then they argue that it’s their spelling that is correct when the English language originated from England…how can an original language be wrong?

sorry but ‘racket’ is not what you think it is it. it is the meaning of making annoying noises. ‘racquet’ is how “us” americans spell it. plus the question should be spelled not spelt for its not a word. yes the sport is known as racquetball. so much for the americans brutalizing the English language that need to know of their own. sorry that was with love not hate. but the olympics give me the competitive edge right now.

If you mean the tool that is used for playing tennis, I also spell it racquet, but yes - Americans seem to have brutalized the English language, lol
