How do you think parents will react to something so shocking?

Hi there, How do you think my parents will react to their only daughter being a Lesbian. Just want some opinions of others that have experienced the same or if you think you know how they’ll react and treat me. Thank you very much for answering - Venu

Answer #1

IF YOUR PARENTS REALLY LOVE YOU THEN THEY WILL EXCEPT YOU LESBIAN OR NOT!!!

Answer #2

if I were a parent, I would be shocked at first. but since they really love you, they will come around. it’s your decision, and if they cant accept it, it’s their problem. hope this helps, and god bless.

Answer #3

I don’t have any experience with this sorta thing :p but I would suggest not telling them. At least for a while. And don’t not give guys a chance because you like the same sex and wanna keep it that way, you know? Just chillax and don’t worry bout it. Just see how things go.

hey :) my stepsister turned out being lesbian and my stepmom was in complete denial about it for months. she gave all these stupid selfish reasons for my sis to change her mind like she wanted to be a grama… but honestly shes just weird and old people have a problem adjusting to the new. my dad kinda knew about my stepsis for ages, picking up on the “signs” or something he says haha I honestly couldnt care less. im proud of her for telling her mom!!! it also gave me the courage to admit to my parents im bi you shouldnt be embarrested or afraid. you parents tell you all the time they love you nomatter what. nows their time to prove it!!!

oh btw my stepsis is still with her girlfriend and stepmom has grown up about it and they’re neverbetter :)

ask your self these questions first Why do you need to tell them? is it really that important to you if your parents know that you like the oppsite sex? Do they always support you in every decision that you make? also ask them how they feel about other people that like the opposite sex such as whoopie goldberg, elen degeneris, or rosie odonald< famous lesbian actors If you feel that they will not support your decisions why bother telling them, not every thing has to be broad casted

Answer #6

You realize that there is absolutely no way to know how your parents will react to this. I’ve seen kids whose parents are supportive. And I’ve seen kids who get kicked out of their homes. Being Indian, odds are, your parents are not going to react well. I know of one guy whose parents pretty much ignore it. My mother goes on about how the world has turned terrible (in regards to homosexuality). It’s hard to know. I wouldnt tell them unless I was financially secure.
