How do magnetic bracelets work please?

hi, when my great uncle died the family were allowed to have a keepsake of his, I chose a magnetic bracelet, he had never used it. and I have lost the instructions, I continue to wear it but no longer know how it is supposed to benefit me? if iwere to know then perhaps beleive it works then it mite benefit me even more. or does anyone know of any other types of jewellery I could wear that would have a benefit on my wellbeing? be it mental/physical/spiritual?

furo is precisely right. Jewelry that purports to have a physical impact on your health or well-being, whether using magnets, copper, crystals, or what have you, operate entirely on the placebo effect. That is, if you believe it will have some effect, then you will perceive an effect. There is little to no credible scientific data to back up any of claims that they do anything at all, and as we learned in science class, if a result is not repeatable and verifiable, the result is next to worthless.

New-age healing operates almost entirely in the realm of anecdotal evidence, where someone uses a product, reports a result, and the community points to that result and says, ‘’See? It worked for him. It MUST be true.’’ This is not science. It’s at best coincidental and at worst complete hogwash. Yes, there are many things we do not understand about the human body, but the therapeutic effects of refrigerator magnets are not among those things.

They don’t do anything other than the functions that any other bracelet. At best, it might be useful if you spill a bunch of staples or paper clips on the ground. The magnets aren’t strong enough to overcome the flow of blood and draw the iron in red blood cells towards it. And even if the magnet were strong enough, which is pretty much impossible, why would you want your red blood cells being drawn to one area? Seems like it would hinder good blood flow if a bunch of the red blood cells are being held up.

The bracelets don’t do anything that a placebo couldn’t do. You’re just as likely to see the same benefits if given a regular bracelet and being told it’s a magnetic bracelet.
