How do I stop being paranoid about everything?

I hate myself for worrying about everything when small things happen. Eg if someone doesn’t respond to a question I ask I automatically assume that person dislikes me and is trying to avoid me. Sometimes I think the whole world is out to get me. I’m not sure how to stop this.

Just dont think that way. Know that God is up there watching you looking over you:)

Hi leevan, I can identify with you somewhat. I get a little paranoid when I’m depressed and I feel everybody hates me, when in reality I have a small but very loving family. I’ve never thought anyone was out to kill me or anything, but I often do think my friends don’t really like me and my fear of rejection is enormous. I’m seeing a counselor; perhaps you could benefit by that also (unless you think your counselor doesn’t like you either - hey, just a little humor, my friend). Also, whenever I’ve argued with anyone on the computer, and it happens, then I really get scared and paranoid that they’ll find out who I am, where I live, etc., but I can usually talk myself out of that mood. Just know that you’re not alone in feeling the way you do. Just guessing, but I think people like you and I simply don’t have a good level of self-esteem. In addition, we are way too sensitive. Whenever I talk to my counselor about this, I’ll let you know what his advice is, okay? So I hope you’ll keep in touch. Good luck.
