Hello I raised breeder parakeets. Here is what you need. You need two perches and a box attached to the cage that she can get in and out of to lay her eggs. She doesn’t need nesting or anything, just the bare wood of the box.

When the pair are getting ready to mate, they will start a mating ritual. They will sit on two different perches and he will do a little dance and bob his head and chirp at her. She will ignore him. At some point he will try to jump on the perch with her and she will attack him and chase him off the perch. This little ritual may go on several times or days, leave them alone and let them do their mating thing. At some point she will let him jump over on her perch and she will not attack him and they will coo and boob their heads and she will let him mount her back.

Her eggs will now be fertilized. Now when she lays them and she needs this box to sit on her eggs in privacy. He will help her with all this. The eggs will hatch and leave the babies alone. Oh the lid of the box can be made to come on and off so you can look in but make sure you do it when you will not startle her.

I can’t remember the time frames but you should be able to look that up on the internet.

Good luck
