How do I get my dog to stop?

When I run with my dog, almost all the time she grabs my leg with her teeth in a playful way, but she trips me and I hurt myself, but she doesn’t mean it she is just playing too rough. I give her whoopens to teach her to play nicer, but it doesn’t work and I need to teach my dog to stop, so can someone tell me how to get her to stop?

I agree with the advice above this…but if that doesnt work they have bitter apple spray at pet stores… it is ussually for birds and smaller animals when they bit but it works for dogs and cats as well.

I have a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. They are bred to be herding dogs for cattle. I like to have never got him to quit trying to herd me when I would walk, lol I have been on crutches for the past 4 years so having a dog trying to help me walk was really not a good thing. Every time he would start to nudge my heels I would just stop and say NO in a real firm voice. You have to do it every time though. It took a couple of months but he doesn’t do it anymore to me or anyone else.

“Whoopin” dogs never works…obviously!

All dog training happens by building one lesson on top of another…so first you’re going to have to teach her to walk properly on a leash…then up the ante by walking, then breaking into your jogging…back to walking…etc…interspersing the walking and jogging…She’ll like going the faster pace, so if she attempts to nip, slide back into a walk…she’ll get the idea, that “no nipping means more fun”…And that’s the other secret…dogs LOVE to have fun.

I liked the idea above too, you know you could even stop walking altogether, when she does it.I had a dog that did this, they think your leg is a plaything and it moving around doesn’t help. My old dog would run up behind you wrap her paws around your knees and take you down, it hurt bad.

sprinkle your leg with some chilie powder. After she takes a bit she should stop. Wash your leg after :)
