How to get a dog to stop growling

Ok everytime my female dog goes into heat my male dog growls at everybody for no reason and acts like he’s about to bite when I tell him no he growls more…what are some ways I can stop this

Answer #1

its probaly because he dosnt want anoter male dog to mate with her. try keeping him away from her.

ps.please email me if it works

Answer #2

well we were scheduling when to spay her but then she unexpectedly went into heat so we’ll just wait it out and get her to the vet fast as we can when she gets out

Answer #3

Get him neutered. I mean this will help for now and you can spay her anyway, it just cost a little extra not much. If you neuter him he will stop peeing on everything too. Much nicer pet and it cost less to neuter him.

I know you are saying why do both, many reasons. He will be a better dog and she won’t have a messy heat every 6 months. He will be a cleaner, healthier pet. He stop the growling too. May save his life.

Answer #4

You should take her to the vet so they can spay her… Unless you want puppies?

Answer #5

He’s doing what comes naturally…that’s why there are such horrendous dog fights when a female is in heat.

Another tidbit…many, MANY dog bite fatalities have happened when an intact male is “protecting” a female in heat…a child or an elderly person comes too near, and the dog kills that person.

You’re going to have to figure out how to separate them…

alright I definitely will..thanks

Answer #8

There are “morning after” type pills for dogs, too…you might look into them…

Answer #9

Separate him from the female. He is being territoral because she is in heat.
