How common is the niemann pick disease in people?

Answer #1

Depends on the type. Type A (the commonest) has an incidence of about 1 in 40 000 in Ashkenazi Jews, and is very rare in other populations.

For type B the incidence is unknown (as far as I could find out). It is more or less equally common in all population groups.

Type C is said to occur in 1 in 150 000 people, but is more common among Cajun.
