How can I move in with my God-Mother?

I am 15 years old, soon to be 16 and my parents are separated. (Not Divorced) I live in Florida with my mom, 1 of my sisters, and my dog and have ‘tried’ out this place for 1 year. And I’m sick of it. I have a great relationship with my mother and father (he lives back in New Jersey where we are from) but I just need someone neutral right now. Because I dont like feeling like im choosing sides or that I have to. We visit Jersey often, but I hate coming back to Riverview. I just really miss Jersey and my real friends. So, how can I move in with my God-Mother? Like, what do I, my parents, or my God-Mother need to do legally to make this happen?

@hysterical- the petition thing, not gonna go well. my parents are good parents I just really want to move back to New Jersey because the people down here are going to drive me crazy. They’re so mean and egotistical. I can’t take it anymore. I’ve tried so hard to be nice to them, and after a year, I just can’t be nice anymore.

@oddball123 I’ve already told both of my parents that already. But my mom wants me to live by my dad. And I really don’t want to live with either of them because that will just continue to make me feel like I have to choose sides again.

Answer #2

Tell your parents that you don’t want to chose side and tell them that you want to spend time with your godmother and not them rite now

Answer #3

Your god-mother can file a petition for custody over you. If all goes well then most likely you might end up living with her. Although she needs a good reason to have custody over you or else shes not going to get it.
