How can I help my Dad agree to letting me get two gerbils?

My best friend has gerbils and I researched that they are fun-loving animals that have a great personality. I have had hamsters when I was little and that didn’t go so well. I believe I have be gun to become more responcible. My dad is really hard to convince and I keep doing chores but I think my parents are just keeping this up because I don’t usually do them. I already have a cage, toys, tubes, exc. but my dad doesn’t like pets but I think gerbils will help me to become more responcible… Can you help? P.S. Don’t answer this question if you are just going to say respect what your parents say because I would have done all this work for nothing.

I had gerbils and at first my mam said no but after about 2-3 weeks she slowly caved in but they were to messy and smelt a lot so we got rid of them to a rspca recue place so make sure you look after them real good oh and get 2 because if you get 1 then its more likely to die quiker because its lonely..hope your dad caves…

Your parents probably understand that gerbis multiply very fast…two gerbils now…50 in 6 months…

I’m not going to say “respect what your parents say” but sometimes they are right and they do what’s best for us. So the best us kids can do is prove them wrong and shove it in their faces. My advice is to start up with one gerbil, raise it well. Always feed it. Then a few months from now cram it down your dads throat (not literally) and show him what a good job you’ve done. Then you could expand your gerbil empire. Just make sure your parents never have to clean up the mess.

gerbils I had three.. they make a huge mess kicking their bedding around.. they smell.. they multiply in a blink of an eye, one time I had one escape from his cage.. I found him and when I picked him up he bit me :( lol I don’t recommend these pets at all.

I hope you can get your gerbils but as for how I have no clue =( sorry. they’re so cute!!
