How can I bleach my hair at home?

How can I bleach my hair at home using house hold products without messing it up? I only want to bleach my bangs and someone told me to try peroxide but it didnt work. I cant go to a salon and do it either because its too expensive.

there are kits at drug stores designed for dark hair. it’s only like 12 bucks. make sure to keep it on long enough or else it will look strawberry blonde.

You don’t - my friend did that and her hair feel out. She only did it for like 5 minutes, it was horrible. That was 3+ years ago and her hair is still really messed up.
