How do I clean a muddy stable?

how do I clean my horses stable when it muddy in wet, because my horse is get skinny in I need to get him back fat in in shape but his stable is so muddy that he loses weight just trying to move in it all day

Answer #1

Your horse can’t lose THAT much weight by walking in mud. Keep him in the barn when its muddy so he doesn’t destroy the pasture. Lime the pasture and seed it daily. if your horse is skinny try peanut oil, Beat pulp [wetted of coarse], senior feed, or hay stretchers, but not all of those at once, try one and if it doesn’t work in a month add another. You don’t burn 4242342w52556436 calories by walking in mud, why would a horse?

Answer #2

I would do as the others have said for drying the place out. Then I find where the water is coming from. Is it that your horse is peeing that much? If so, have it mucked out every couple of days. If not, stopping the leak will be less costly. Still provide bedding for your horse. As for putting the weight back on your horse. If all is well with the vet. Id ask at the feedstore for a product that is made for hard keepers. The name escapes me just now.

Answer #3

try power spraying all the mud out and putting something on the ground to absorb it up. do u have rubber matting thats usally quite good put shavings underneath it and then clean it out every so often and give ur horse a big bed.
