Does the hole from a bellybutton piercing fade over time?

I’m not really bothered whether or not it will fade, but I was just wondering. This is the hole now:

As in the scar? Yes. Best thing is Vitimin E oil. I had my belly button pierced when I turned 18 back in 08, It migrated and 4 months later ended up actually tearing out. I have a scar, it was purple and disgusting looking at first, but now (2010) its almost freckle colored. They do turn white because it is scar tissue and will always be slightly noticable, but its so common and you wont really see it unless you are looking for it, especially if its just a hole and not a migration scar.

I think it depends on the person, their body, or the piercing.

I pierced mine about 4 years ago, and there is still a scar but no hole. However, it was not done properly.

Some people’s hole fades and can completely disappear within a few years, others disappear within several years, and some never completely disappear. So, it’s hard to say whether or not yours will completely disappear over time or not. However, it should fade over time, but as to how much it will fade… that’s hard to say.

Answer #5

The hole will close up, and there will be a scar that will gradually fade over time. It will eventually end up white like scar tissue and hardly noticable. Best results add Vitimin E oil

Answer #6

the hole will close., but in most cases there will always be some sort of scar. Some will be smaller and more feint than others but the scar will be there. As said above there are tinctures and remedies that can be used to reduce the severity of the scaring but the scar will be there just as if you had a puncture wound from an injury elsewhere on your body.

Answer #7

If it’s been fully healed for a while, no, probably not. When your skin heals around the jewelry it heals inward and makes a tunnel and that’s how it stays, pretty much.
