long time belly piercing

I have had my piercing for about 12yrs and only seem to have problems with redness and tenderness when I change my jewelry to a stainless steel bottom mount ring. Is this because it is pulling on my belly button causing the ball of the jewelry to sit almost inside the hole? When I use titanium or a top mount piece it usually doesn’t happen. What can I do to prevent redness and tenderness short of not using any of the expensive very pretty jewelry I have?

Answer #1

Yup, tried the surgical steel too. It only seems to happen with a dangle that isn’t the reverse kind

Answer #2

at 12 years it should be completely healed and there shouldnt be any redness or tenderness when you try to take it out or change it so it probably has something to do with the jewlerey you might evcen be allergic to the stainless steel try to get a ring or bellybar thats made out of surgical steel and see how that goes
