Hiding spots

I would like to hide my hunting rifle and my pistol inside of a wall. I have a good idea which wall to use because I know I have a void large enough and the access point would be very inconspicuous. how would I get that going? and by the way, it’s not for any unethical reasons why I want a hiding spot. a good safe is just out of the question right now.

What’s the point of making your guns inaccessable? What if there is a maniac attacking your family? An unloaded gun, isn’t a gun, it’s just a stick. A gun you can’t get to fast, can’t save anyone. If you’re just trying to keep guns away from children…how about simply changing your bedroom door knob to one that locks??? Keep it locked, and your room, becomes a safe ! Kids don’t need to be in the master bedroom anyway ! Or you could put a lock on your closet door.

Answer #2

Not exactly what I was looking for. Children aren’t the concern right now either. I don’t have a concealed weapons permit yet so I can’t go around packing heat. The concern is when I am not at home. Thanks for you inputs.

Answer #3

What I’m really looking for is some one with carpentry expertise. Or a home builder that might know a reputable company that specializes in concealed compartments or making safe spots.

Answer #4

You could do something like this by doing the mood work and covering it with something, I think it would be effective: http://www.southwestcustomwoodworking.com/pistol_frames.html
