First, you have only had your period for 3 years, which feels like a long time, but in the big picture of it all…your body is still adjusting and being more well tuned to the whole change of having a period..so keep that in mind..usually these things tend to sort themselves out naturally..Also 28 days is a rough estimate of how long the “typical” cycle takes. Anything between 23 and 35 days is completely normal. Last, at around day 14 or so…ovulation takes place..and some woman have light spotting..so try and see when you are getting what you think is your period..is it a normal period or does it seem much much lighter. If it has been looked at, and they havent seen any problem, talk to your dr. about the options. They sometimes put you on a birth control to regulate your period…the thing is..going on the pill..especially at 16 has its own set of draw backs..like potential blood clots, migraines, and if you arent sexually active right now..you’ll want to wait until you are because being on BC for a long period of time can jeopardize fertility in the future. Talk to your Dr. and weigh all the options…most likely this is something that will take care of it self naturally in time.

it usually takes a year or so to become regular with your periods. I was unusually lucky and got mine every3 weeks and its never changed except with pegnsncy. its all about hormones and eating heathy. stress can cause a big part in it aswell.

Answer #3

go to the doctor and have some blood work done ask them to check you hormone levels and to check out your tyroid glads and endocrine glands or what ever you call them but get your self checked and ask an adult to go with you!

Answer #4

I started mine when I was 11 too and right now,it has never been the same routine. It always happens on a surprise.I just ALWAYS carry stuff around for it just incase.

Answer #5

actually I had the same problem, but reverse. I would have my period every 9 months! and I started when I was 12. And when I would have it, the pain was unbarable and I would be gushing the blood out. One thing that will help is birth controll. Yes it sounds scary, but it is common to a young girl to be on it to help regulate her period through the hormoans giving in the pill. I am on it, not sexually active at all. And it helps wonders! I would talk to your doctor about the possibility, so “the pill” isnt always used for protection!
