What is a healthy size for me?

I am 13 years old going on 14. I am 5 foot 6 and 3/4. I am pretty active. I wear size 13 jeans, and XL-Large T-shirt. My bra size is C38, and I am 178 lbs. I have the following questions:

  1. What would be a healthy weight for me?
  2. What should be my jean size
  3. What should be my shirt size.
  4. Do you know any exercises that can help me loose weight?

Okay you guys, you obviously know absolutely nothing about healthy weight and dieting. Im a Marine, and Im also 5’6/ a healthy average weight for my height is approximately 118-150. Anything over that is considered obese by any doctor. There is nothing to say what jean size or shirt size you should wear, for example, Im 135 lbs and I wear a size 10 jean, I have a big butt, lol. Im dieting right now and what I find to help me loose weight is to eat 6 (small) meals a day every 2 hrs. and each meal should be between 250-300 calories depending on how much weight you would like to loose. Also, it is recommended to get at least 30 mins of activity in 6 days a week even if it is just walking, Hope this helps, good luck!

To add on my comment above, your 14 years old your body is still developing, I wasnt happy with my body when I was that young either. You will probably even get taller so dont sweat what you look like.

A healthy weight for you is 178lbs. Your jean size should be a 13 and you should be wearing XL T-shirts. DON’T LOSE WEIGHT!! You do not seem fat at all, and frankly if you are active and take care of yourself correctly, then you are healthy. Remember that healthy and skinny are very different!!! You are perfect just the way you are, and if you ever want to get healthier, eat right and exercise, don’t try to lose weight!!! Best of luck! :)

Ok.. well I’ll work out your BMI for you. =] It works out your height/weight ratio.

2 secs =P…

Ok.. well it seems that you have a bmi of 28.7 which means that you are of a normal weight. I’m not really sure of all the rest.. since I’m english and I think the sizes here are different. As for the other question.. you don’t really need to lose weight. But if you do then maybe go jogging or do some cardiac exercises.

Some advice on clothes shopping: Don’t necessary look at the size of the clothing. Different brands have different sizes. Remember that because of your height you will be on the higher end of the number scale. Your body is also going through a lot of hormonal changes. When I went through that stage at your age, I gained 30 pounds and 4 dress sizes. I went from a small in the children’s department to a medium in the junior’s department. Just remember to stay active and find clothes that make you happy because they fit right regardless of whatever the tag says. Happy shopping!
