what will happen now i've told the police about what happened when i was sexually assulted?

my boyfriends mum’s fiancee sexually assulted me last saturday after my boyfriend went up to bed, he rubbed my nipples through my clothing, asked me to lift my nighty up and said in an excited/ pervy voice ‘ooh i’ve got your nipples hard’, I just froze and then when i realise what was going on i pulled away and went upstairs to bed. I have aspergers syndrome so the police said i was counted as a vulnerable adult. I want to know what kind of action will the police take? will this horrible man get arrested and for how long?

he will probably get arrested but i dont think it will be that long, a few days up to a few months, maybe because he didn’t like rape you or anything.

that is what I thought might happen, I know even if they didn’t arrest him or for very long that he would be on the sex offenders register. thanks

Okay, first of all saying ‘ he didn’t like rape you or anything’ makes it sound like it’s no big deal. IT IS A BIG DEAL!!! No one has the right to touch you in any way that is unwanted. You were sexually assaulted and It is serious. Whatever does happen, be proud that you did say something, for sticking up for yourself. Anyways, If he is arrested he’ll probably be charged with sexual assault and be released with conditions till there is a court date. He will need to get a lawyer. Where I’m from the crown attorney would represent you when it goes before the judge. If he is found guilty then he will be sentenced and registered as a sexual offender. Courts often have to look at proof and unfortunately often these cases cannot be proven. This has happened to me and my offender was not found guilty (lack of proof) although the judge did say that he believes me. It was a dissapointment but I know that he will think twice before ever doing it again to anyone. And I’m sure he spent a fortune on lawyer fees. For what it’s worth, I’m proud of you and good luck.
