What would happen if someone had a seizure or an asthma attack and no one was there to help them?

Could death accure?

Answer #1

well i read of one of those red buttons people carry around their neck, id suggest that the person gets one

Answer #2

‘occur’. And yes people can die of asthma attacks and from seizures (although it is rare for people to have seizures that cause that much damage)

Answer #3

Yes, the pearson who has a seizure needs to be in a certain position while they have it and help comes, and when you have an asthma attack someone has to be there to give you the medicine you need or something so you breath better.

Answer #4

Well i have asthma and i have had plenty of attcks alone and im alive lol. It depends how bad the asthma is, if i have an attack and i dont have an inhaler I’ll be ok as long as i sit down and relax, also caffine helps with asthma attacks. Seizure on the other hand is far more dangerous is my opinion. If that person is not on a flat surface like the floor with lots of room then they could seriously harm themselves by hitting their body/head against furniture, biting their tongue off even. They need to be put in the recovery position asap, ambulance called, and make sure they are in a clear open space. If they are alone and have one then yes it is possible to die from it.

Answer #5

It actually is possible to die from a seizure, either from an injury caused by the seizure (being in a car and seizing, hitting the head, choking) or from SUDEP, which is Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. You can also die from a severe asthma attack because it restricts your airflow. If you have asthma, ALWAYS carry your inhaler.

Answer #6

Yes death could definitely occur. They can also swallow their tongue or hit their head during either. Very important to be with someone at all times or have an alert button. Also their are dogs trained to foresee seizures.

Answer #7

As to a seizure, I have never seen that…

But I did see a 16 year old die of an asthma attack in the ER where I was working- still haunts me…
