What can happen to a student who is caught cheating (red handed) in your country?

Answer #1

His/her whole exam’s would be cancelled and everyone in that room who was doing the exam too would be disqualified also everyone would be searched, pockets and bags. It really sucks.

Answer #2

Answer #4

Answer #5

In Germany, you will have your papers taken away, be send out of the classroom and you will get zero points for that exam.

Teachers also write down who sits next to whom during an exam. If a teacher notices during correction, that two students have exactly the same text - so it is obvious that one copied the other - or that thy made exactly the same mistakes AND they were sitting next to each other, both will get an F. (Though if you can prove that your mistakes aren’t due to secret copy-ing… for example if that text you wrote in the test is in a book in the school library and you say you both memorized it from that same book, then your test grade will be re-viewed by another teacher and you may get a better one.)

Answer #6

You will fail the exam/test and will be Exspelled from school. It will also go on your permanent record (and collages will be able to see it) and sometimes they will hold you back in your grade for it. This is in the USA South Carolina, Columbia.

Oh and reading through the other answers I remembered that, like Sierrafox said, it goes on our record where it remains for 25 years. Bearing in mind future employers have access to these records. Education Queensland takes exams VERY seriously.

Answer #16

It depends. If it is a normal classroom test then the teacher usually gives the kid a 0 and calls the kids parent. But that is a typical teacher. Some would not call the parents. I am not here to speak for everyone, but I believe if it is a simple not very important test, it is all up to the teacher and their teaching style. Well that is just for a teacher mandated test.

State mandated tests like ACT or SAT’s and AP exams are usually under state and federal regulations. For example, I took my AP Environmental Science test this past week. It was 11 people and it lasted 3 and 1/2 hours. They told us if we cheated our test would be taken up and they wouldn’t score our test and if it was between most the class, the whole class would have their test taken up. To take the exam we had to each pay 87$ and they wouldn’t pay us back if we cheated. Also it is required by the BOE (board of education) that if you take and AP class, you have to take an AP exam regardless if you pass it, just so you can graduate. . I just think it all depends in how serious the test/exam/quiz/assessment is.
