Hamstring tear for 6 months

I tore my hamstring back in December. Being in the Navy they were not all that concerned and I saw a PT for one week. Well now I am taking 18 Tylenol a day, nine in the morning and nine in the evening just to dull the pain. My doctor, after five months of me complaining about the pain, has ordered me an MRI, which will happen next week. I have a hard time walking, can’t extend my leg and stretching is out of the queston. It feels like it is tearing each time I stretch.

My question is, could I be looking at something more than a hamstring problem? Could it be more serious and will the MRI show what exactly is wrong or am I at the mercy of what a Navy doctor think is wrong?

Thanks john

I was able to see my MRI picture right after it was done. It showed a lot of black on the lower portion of hamstring. (Back of the leg, right above the back of the knee.) From what I have read it doesn’t look good. I will see the Radioligist tomorrow and he will let me know what is going on. I will post after that even the pictures after I get CD. I am sure this will help someone else in the future.

Thanks for everything John

Could probably. After working the leg and the hamstring getting more abuse it could start to wear down on you and cause more serious problems. You might want to lay off it, get crutches or something till your MRI. The MRI will show the doc what exactly is wrong with your leg.

Cheep your chin up, Steve.
