Why are my gums receding?

When i pull back my bottom lip its looks like I only have half of my gums and my teeth are seriously longer. In October I smoked a pack of cigarettes but that’s all. I’m not a smoker and I haven’t done it since. I orginally thought that was the cause but it might be more than that. Can 30 cigarettes cause your gums to receede in 4 months. I only noticed this two nights ago and I’ve gone a few nights at least 2 or 3 without brushing my teeth.

You’re aging sweetie :D Think nothing of it, unless your gums start to bleed. In that case simply see an orthodontist.

Answer #2

I’m sure you’ve realized this is your last year of teenage…

Answer #3

Do you have any oral piercings? Your gums shouldnt be receding and once they do, they dont come back. I had the monroe piercing, it’s a lip piercing and it caused the gumline on the tooth behind it to recede, not cool.

Answer #4

No, I don’t have any piercings that would cause this.

Answer #5

it’s a natural mouth condition not a good one but millions and millions of people have it best thing to do is see your dentist and get his advice another thing to do is get a stronger tooth brush and use it to massage your gums which will encourage regrowth.
