What are some good ways to hold 12 four year old girls attention?

I am co-coaching a little girls cheerleading team with my friend. The ages are 4-5 year olds. Are there any good tips on how to get them to listen and behave during the practices?

Answer #1

music and dancing..and food

Answer #2

bad idea they get to wild with food and music. the start dancing and breaking things. magazine of cartoons..games

Answer #3

What 4-5 year old girls are going to sit there and read a magazine for while? They most likely wouldn’t even be able to read, or understand a word it is saying.

Answer #4

Board games, animated movies/cartoons, arts and crafts, educational video games, coloring books/drawing, baking, etc…

Answer #5

I misread the question…I only read the title and the answers. My apologies.

Answer #6

Find out what they want to do as a group that you could agree with. Don’t think what they might like, it’s only your opinion, not theirs. It’s that way with anything or anyone. Just ask your boyfriend, if you have one, what he would like to do as an activity. You might find out that he takes more interest in you by doing that one little thing. I’m not saying you have a boyfriend or not, if you don’t just ask the next boy you meet what he likes to do and do it with him. That is within reason, of course.

Answer #7

no i mean a magazine fool of pix

Answer #8

ur prolly said that so she can say i dont have a boyfriend perv

Answer #9

Sorry about that, I had just woke up…not reading or thinking right. :P

Answer #10

That was uncalled for. There was no need to call him a perv. He wasn’t being perverted at all.

Answer #11

You just have to make being there fun for them. To keep their attention, find routines that suit 4 year olds and keep them on their toes. Reassure them a lot (let them know how good they’re doing), and if they goof off a little, just be calm and understanding. (They are only 4, after all.)

If the children misbehave, talking to their parents afterwords could be an idea. This way their parents could help in that area a lot. (Some parents to the whole “If you’re really good, we’ll have a treat after!)

In any case, I hope it works out for you!

Answer #12

You can’t….!

Answer #13

Im not very sure what I would be asking a boyfriend about if I am teaching 4 and 5 year old girls cheerleading. And no I do not have a boyfriend, I have a husband. This is about holding the attention of 12 little girls. It has nothing what so ever to do with my significant other.

Answer #14

doesnt have to be the lollies…maybe like fruit and stuff. but every kids different

Answer #15

Try doing little clapping routines when it gets too noisy and the kids have to copy the claps. It stops them talking etc as they have to concentrate :P
