Why are girls trying to be anorexic?

Anorexic girls just don’t appreciate food, They could be living in some other countries where food is scarce. Then they would be begging for it. They have problems, and sometimes it is for attention (not all the time). They need to stop losing it the “lazy” way, and lose weight the healthy way, instead of just starving thereself. it very sad. I really don’t mean to offend anyone.. Someone please explain why they are this way? Its dumb, asking “How do I become anorexic”? ???… =/

this really hurt my feelings. I was a suffering anorexic at the age of 8 years old. I was on the chubbier side, and my mom was sooo skinny. I wanted to be like her. She was my role model. I starved myself and passed out in the middle of thanksgiving dinner. I was eating bites of food the size of a pea. I was sent to the hospital. They told my parents I wasnt going to make it. But Im here, and I recovered. I was never lazy and just have a slow metabilism. People suffering do appreciate foodand they usually grew up w/ some sort of trama in there life. In my case my mom was a raging alcohalic who abused me several times. You shouldnt be making fun of people who go on the computer and say how can I become anorexic fast. Its a disease, just like cancer. The mind is set on how to lose weight, and how to lose it fast. It doesnt just go away, and it doesnt just come. Watch what you say.

I suffered with anorexia for quite some time, and have been in and out of rehab, and I will tell you right now, anorexia is definitely NOT for lazy people. I don’t think you understand how much self-discipline it takes to see your favorite food sitting right in front of you, and refusing to eat it, because you’re so scared that one bite will make you gain a billion pounds. And I actually acquired anorexia because I was actually on a “normal” diet. I was eating healthy, and I began to get obsessed. First, I started counting calories. I allowed myself 1,500 a day, which is a perfectly healthy amount for a teenage girl. But then, I began to obsess even more. 1,500 was too much.. and soon 1,000 was too much, 500 was too much… This went on until I was eating 100 calories a day, and was at 89 pounds. I was 15 years old, and 5’2”. Now if that sounds lazy to you, you must be some athlete. Because not only was I dieting and restricting my caloric intake hardcore, but I was also working my butt off in the gym EVERY DAY. I would burn off more calories in the gym than I even ate that day. I would be there for hours and hours running until I couldn’t run anymore. And when I was too tired to work out anymore, I would go and sit in the sauna, so I would sweat a lot and lose some water weight. So next time you decide you’re going to talk badly about a certain kind of person, make sure you know the facts. Because obviously, you didn’t do your research.

I hope you know that there are just as many anorexic MEN as there are woman.

It’s more prominent in FEMALES on this site, and you know it. And most of the girls who ask about it, don’t even KNOW what it means. They seem to think its a ‘trendy’ way to lose weight, not a mental illness.

I hope you know that there are just as many anorexic MEN as there are woman.

and you’re dumb, saying that people who suffer from anorexia are lazy. it takes so much discipline and self-restraint to not eat the foods you only wish you could.

it’s a disease, and it destroys and even kills. anorexics DO have problems that need medical attention, put making stupid posts on the internet that are just about YOU putting anorexic people beneath you is just stupid.

get a life, and go to oprah.
