the girls on here that ask “how do I become anorexic” usually want to be cause they want to be thin. they are not true anorexics. there is nothing good about anorexia…trust me. yes you do lose a lot of weight, but it’s a living hell everyday. if you truly have an eating disorder you can’t just decide to stop. it takes mths/years of counselling and treatments. some may never recover. hoep this helps.

Answer #3

They want to be anorexic because they see lots of really skinny celebrities and thats when they start to notice their own inperfections. Nobody is perfect, but of course celebrities are edited and whatnot to look perfect and thats the problem. All these little girls want to be tiny skinny just for the look. They obvisouly don’t realize what anorexia truly does and if they walked a day in an anorexic’s persons shoes, I guarentee they would probley want to die. Nobody who is actually educated about the disease actually WANTS to be anorexia. They just don’t know anything about it, same deal with balomia.

Well, all of the girls on this site inquiring as to how they may work on becoming anorexic are simply wondering how to lose weight with what they see as minimal effort. HOWEVER True anorexia isn’t a GOAL. I overcame anorexia 2 years ago and it was tough. I caught it before it was life threatening and I know that 98 lbs for someone who is 5’4” and 16 isn’t really underweight, but it’s very thin. I was 138 lbs prior to my dieting and a size 8. After my “dieting” I weighed 98 lbs and was a size 0. My friends worried about me and said I looked pale and somewhat grey although still very pretty and I was exceedingly thin. Now, I had just been diagnosed with ADD and my medication suppressed my appetite on some level. I was enthralled by this new level of control over my eating habits and decided I would go on a diet. I ate less and less and it was great! I was down to a size 4 by the end of the semester. Yayyy! But that’s when it started going downhill. I stopped eating breakfast and lunch. I would only eat part of my dinner, proclaiming that I had eaten a “very large lunch”. In one week I grew 2 inches and lost 4 lbs. bringing me from a size 4 to a size 2. I started running a lot and eating even less. I exercised… I lifted weights, swam, and ran. I gained muscle mass (although, where my body managed to find the nutrition for that, I’ll never know) I did 100 sit-ups each night I still thought I was fat. I saw a fat tub of lard in the mirror My friends FORCE-FED me food one time awful I had bruises everywhere (30 on one leg one time) couldn’t possibly imagine where they all came from

So, to answer your question: Girls don’t really want to become “anorexic” They simply misuse the term. They really just want to become thin.

I want to be skinny and anorexic because I’m a ballet dancer. I’m 13 years old, I weigh 98 lbs, I’m 5’3”, and my waist size is 25 inches. I’m a size zero, but yet I want to be even more skinny. My dance teachers pressure us daily to be thin. They tell us that if you’re not thin, you won’t become a good dancer, and also say that in European countries, only people with the right kind of body for ballet are allowed to dance. It makes everyone, especially me, self-conscious about my weight. I usually have about 1000 calories a day with 24 hours a week at ballet.

In January, I developed this picture in my mind that I was fat. I took a picture for an audition and looked at myself. All I saw were fat arms, fat legs, and a fat stomach. A couple weeks later, however, I recovered and went back to living my life. You know why? Because my dance teacher (who doesn’t like how dancers have to be so skinny) said I had a perfect body for ballet. Compliments like that make me very satisfied. Now, 7 months later, I feel like I’m 50 pounds heavier and terribly fat. I can’t look at myself in a mirror or wear shorts in public because I am so scared of being overweight and fat. I am not happy about my weight and probably never will be.

Being anorexic can be an act of self control, people can do it because they feel they have no control of anything else, even guys. But its definately not good for you it malnurishes your body and makes you ill . some people see it as sexy but it really isn’t, personally I’d prefer to be more curvy in the right areas than be skinnier x

well, anorexia is a psychological thing as well. and trust me - it all STARTS as a “healthy diet”., first they somehow think they are fat. someone insults them. they just “notice” it out of the blue. they didnt get a part in a school play. reasons are endless. but well, they slowly get out of control… thats when dieting, moving etc is not enough and they are OBSESED about their weight. seeing models makes it worse… wats up next? they still think they are fat even when they are practically a sceleton!!! they want to be perfect - perfect is thin 4 them. so there

anorexia is NOT good!! do you have any idea how many people die from it?? it is very hard 4 a girl 2 go back to what she used to be if the situation is tragic. most die.

:( I guess maybe sum day those people will see what they are doing!!

Answer #9

Girls want to be anorexic because they believe it’s a last resort to getting skinnier. They don’t mean they want to be anorexic, as in anorexia nervosa. Those who want to be anorexic mean they want to go on an “anorexic diet” or “starvation diet” and never gain weight again. Of course they want to be “anorexic” because they want to be starvingly skinny forever. They believe they can control themselves and won’t go mental. This “anorexia” has become a trend nowdays. Girls see magazines articles about anorexic models and actresses. “Being anorexic” sounds very cool because very few people can control their weight.
