Can my friend make a police report because she assumes that I have her ipod at my house when I dont?

I have evidence that she drank the night that she lost the “Itouch”, but she is trying to say she left it at my house and I don’t want to be responsible for anyones belongings. And it’s been over a month and she bearly is asking about it now so it’s all suspicious to me.

Answer #1

She can make one yes but whether they take it seriously is the real matter. Even if they do if you can prove you dont have it and prove she left it somewhere else you have nothing to worry about. As long as your not guilty of anything it’s gonna be fine :)

Answer #2

Yes she can and all reports are suposed to be taken seriously. If she does then the police will come to your house and ask you about it. There are many different directions it could take after that from her being charged with falsifying and official statement to search warrants to them telling you to work it out. The best thing to do is talk to your friend and try to work out what happened to it.

but she’s saying she left it in her bag and its been a month since she asked for it, and I had looked through her bag cause I was missing some of my belongings and seen some of my makeup & clothes in it that she was trying to steal from me which is skandolous but the point is, she went to uptown and drank with these homeless bums and ditched me , & my parents seen her under the influence that night with them so could that be my evidence of where it could of been missing?

I dont think she’s actually going to be pressing charges against you. Police wont take it very seriously if she has absolutely no evidence that you did anything, it will be a waste of their time going on a wild goose chase.
