If you're Wican or similar, do you have a patron god/goddess?

do you have a patron god/goddess? if so, who is yours? and why? :)

Answer #1

Hmm, I follow the Norse Gods, I used to have a bit of a connection with Týr, but not in the way that I felt I was similar, it more out of respect for what Týr represented. Personally, I don’t think I’m as lawful as him ;) At the moment I’m not too sure, I had a dream with Loki in it a short time ago and it was rather interesting. In other words I think I just haven’t discovered which God/Goddess I feel the closest with, nor am I in a rush to do so.

Answer #2

I don’t have a patron God or Goddess at this particular moment in time, who knows I may have one later in life. But when I want a spell or w/e to be more specific I’ll use specific Gods or Goddesses. Shrugs Although I am curious, why Hecate?

Blessed be

Answer #3

I’m Wiccan as well. :) I don’t have a specific god or goddess. I just worship what is. I know that doesn’t make much sense but I guess I could explain it as being Mother Nature mostly.

I’m what people would call a witch(though the proper term is mystic) and I do not believe in any gods or goddesses. Though I’ve a few friends who do, and also have a patron god/goddess one being Zues

Answer #5

um…k…that wasnt my question but thanks however, no they do not believe the goddess is more powerful than the god, they believe they are equal, consorts. however there is the dianic tradition that pays more attention to the goddess. I’ll clarify my question: some wiccans have a patron goddess or god, depends on the individual, if you (the individual) have a patron goddess or god, who is yours and why? for example, mine is hecate. im wiccan btw

Answer #6

wicans believe in a god and a goddes, but they believe the goddes is more powerful then the god.

Answer #7

I don’t really worship a god or goodess, more of the state of being. Like sshaw1998, I too focus on Mother nature. I believe Nature changes everything in the world. She gives us nourishment and warmth when we are cold. She gives us the snow to allow us to cuddle next to each other. She gives us air and many other things people by pass, or look over.

Merry Meet :) Hello, I do follow/patron a goddess. She is the goddess of night, Nyx. Now this might sound weird, but I started having dreams. At first I just thought it was another dream until it stared recurring. In the dream I saw a women in pitch black night. There was a crescent moon behind her. My mentor said she was probably Selena, the moon goddess. I still have the dream and each one is the same however in each one she is trying to say something. And each time she gets closer and closer but I always wake up before any word is said. So I am still trying to find what is going on. But I believe everyone has a special god/goddess that they follow even if they know it or not. :) Blessed be!

Answer #10

daughter of evil well I guess Hecate always seemed to kind of mean a lot to me. When the average person thinks of a goddess, they think beauty and grace, to me, she seems to embrace the beauty that can be found in things that are not obviously beautiful to the average eye, she means so many things to me. I guess thats partly why.
