Food which is poison for dogs between 11 and 20 lbs?

My best friend’s little dog - FiFi - was fine one minute and dying the next. On Thursday, last, she ate a few potato chip crumbs and a piece of a ham sandwich. Within an hour or so she lost control of her bowels, had rectal bleeding and eyes fixed. Within twelve hours she was gone. The vet stated she reacted to whatever killed her almost like a rat poison? The day prior to the event she did eat some fish, both salmon and shrimp pieces. We had heard that certain fish has very high mercury levels and someone had a poodle that died as a result of eating it. Any information out there would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Well a lot of dogs can get parvo. Its not curable and vets usually end up putting the dog to sleep. They start foaming at the mouth and they get the runs and poop blood. Its something outside. The dog also could have very well came into contact with some sort of poison.

And dogs sometimes can get sick from eating chocolate but I think it would more likely be parvo if it was even that.
