What exercises will work off a little bit of fat around the bellybutton?

I know there are thousands of weight loss questions on here, but I couldn’t find an answer that specifically helps with exercises to flatten around the lower-middle part of your tummy. I have a little bit of annoying fat around my tummy button. I do sit-ups, run or swim and skate everyday but this wee bit of pudge just won’t budge!!

Lower stomach exercises, as well as eating habits are going to be key. Eg, not eating after a certain time of night, making sure at each meal, you don’t eat too much (which distends the stomach, causes bloating and makes it impossible to shrink to a smaller size).

There are three main sections of the stomach: Upper Abdominals Lower Abdominals Obliques

You work each one seperately, eg, twisting exercises for your obliques, and crunches for upper stomach, leg lifts for lower.

If you’re doing all three, and working the corresponding muscle groups in your back, thighs, etc, then you should be able to re-shape your middle in a month or less, depending on how far you have to go.

good ? and one i get asked a lot, abs are a very important feature to a great physic. most people have great abbs but they are covered up with bodyfat… the best way to get hard defined abs is to bicycle and other cardio workouts. i would say it starts in the kitchen though. 90% diet and 10% exercise. good luck! if you want workout programs or routines and diet plans i can give you some good webites.

It’s not possible to work off a little bit of fat from a certain part of your body, you need to lower your overall body fat percentage. “Toning & Spot Reduction” is a myth. You’re best bet is doing lot’s of cardio, if you’re looking to get abs then that’s when you start doing ab work outs. But if you’re just looking to lose a little fat do lot’s of cardio, go for walks/runs, skip rope, bike, swim, anything that gets your heart racing and adjust your diet, if you eat a lot of fast food stay away from that for a while, half of being fit is what you eat. So to sum it up, cardio & eat healthy, ab work outs if you want abs.

Adding to this. Swimming. It is a brilliant exercise for toning and losing weight in your abdominal area and can even help you get a six pack if you get fit with it.

To add to what Jeremy said, it is very important to eat each meal, if you miss a meal your metabolism will slow down and the next meal will store more fat. It’s most effective to eat 5 - 6 small meals through out the day, you never want to feel full, but you never want to feel hungry. This will greatly boost your metabolism. Making sure these meals are decently healthy as well is very important. Along with eating healthy and ab work outs, you should do a full body work out. There is no such thing as spot reduction, or toning, you can only lower your overall body fat % and the best way to do that is cardio, followed by a full body workout. If you do 30 minutes of cardio, followed by a 40 minute full body work out, do this every other day giving your body time to recover along with eating healthy you will see results very quick and you will be on your way to a very fit body and a better lifestyle, I’m just talking from personal experience. Been working out for three years and I’m attending college for health and fitness. Any other questions feel free to ask, I love helping people with health and fitness. It’s a passion of mine.
