Is everyday running or jogging more effective for losing weight?

Ive started excercising everyday and yesterday I did about half an hour of jogging and an hour walking. I was told that walking is more effective than jogging, is this true?

Answer #1

along with a balanced diet yes :)

Answer #2

I think that exercising daily in general is very effective- the best exercise to do though while losing weight is cardiovascular so this would include running but also rowing, bike riding, swimming.

Answer #3

I Walk All Over The Place.. I Am Not Running Or Jogging. Unless. The Grim Reaper Is Chasing Me. I Do Better Walking. To Me.. Running Puts Too Much Stress On My feet

Answer #4

I was told to walk as fast as you can for about thirity minites a day. I rtied this and I did lose weight It took a while but it did work. how ever a high carb diet will work aganst you.

Answer #5

ps: when I walk I listen to march music, it helps me keep a good study pace, and was made for that reason.

Answer #6

Yes if you dont give up and eat healthy as well.

Answer #7

very effective, yes. Longer distance after a period of time. :)

Answer #8

Jogging tends to be more effective, the person paces themselves and tends to go further, and actually do more, rather than tiring themselves out with a little bit of sprinting and giving up because it’s hard.

Answer #9

Running for, say, 20 minutes is better for your heart, lungs, and endurance. But jogging at a slower pace for a longer distance is better for burning fat. And it’s important for weight loss that you also do strength-building activity, for two reasons: 1) So your running/jogging burns up fat instead of muscle tissue, and 2) because the better developed your muscles are, the more calories you burn even when you’re at rest. (I’m far from an expert, but I just joined a gym for the first time and started learning about this stuff!)

Answer #10

We have been conditioned that when it comes to working out, “More Is Better”. If I can do 30 minutes on the tread mill, then why not 40? When it comes to workouts to burn fat , more cardio is not necessarily better. If you really serious about burning belly fat then you need to focus on intense resistance training.
