What is the most effective charity group/event/organization/system that you know of?
When I talk about effective I mean actual difference made in people’s lives.
If you don’t know of something official then rather answer with something you believe would be very effective.
i would think the one for breast cancer
the NSPCC is very good at drawing people in. In schools when the students are having a fundraiser and they’ve chosen the charity themselves then the majority of the time they will have chosen the NSPCC. It’s dead annoying.
What does the NSPCC do?
Any reasons for this conclusion?
I would say CIDA City campus, just because they get people educated, help them and their families and help them find jobs.
In the UK, their tag line is “Cruelty to children must stop, full stop.” They work to save children suffering abuse in the home; they run helplines that children can use, and run local projects. But I find them a poor charity, as a child can tell a teacher at school what is going on, and if necessary they can be taken from the abusive situation immediately and action can be put in place to deal with the abuser. The majority of schools have a counsellor for students to talk to, free of charge. The NSPCC is effective at appealing to people but i’m not really sure of the level of impact they actually have.

Since our founding in 1979, Feed The Children has reached out to help children and families in 119 countries around the globe.
relay for life!
ive seen a lot of tv comercials and adds for it, a lot more than any other charity. also because of how much money they raise compared to others
I find Starlight Foundation (kids with cancers) and CANteen (teenagers with cancers) to be the best run charities in Australia. The money donated from the public to these organisations do not get tired up with charity’s so called “administration” fees or the donation money being used to paid the workers (volunteers). World Vision is another great charity and being able to sponsor a child in poverty and the money you sent over every month, not only help the child, but also their family. For AUS$30 per month, the money my fiancée and I donate to World Vision, helps give our sponsor child and his family the little luxuries we take for granted in Oz. I wish everyone could help a child living in poverty a chance to go to school, drink fresh, clean water and food everyday without going to bed hungry. World Vision keeps that dream alive.
