I'm on a diet, and I was wondering if I'm not eating enough:
Breakfast: 1 cup of oatmeal (300 calories) Lunch: 1 1/2 cups of Mixed vegetables, 1 potato and 2 tofu dogs (290 calories) Dinner: 1 can of soup, 1 potato. (330 calories)
Thank you!
I don't know about the average woman, but that doesn't sound like the right amount of calories at all. Regardless of your age, height, or weight, you'd need at least 1500 calories a day. Unless you have really bad eating habits, you should increase your physical activity, not reduce your caloric intake.
And anyway, diets don't work. As soon as you stop dieting, you'll gain back your weight. You'd want a "diet" that you'll stick to PERMANENTLY. Therefore, be realistic.
Actually, that's perfect. The average woman only needs 1000 calories a day. A calorie restricted diet is the best way to lose weight and prolong your life. Its believed to fight aging. Just make sure to switch up your food groups every other day. You dont want to miss out on protein like chicken and eggs. Also, take vitamins!
If you want to know more, go to MSNBC.COM, and then go to "Health" then "Aging" and then click on the article about calorie restriction.
Well, I do have really bad eating habits! I've been eating, like, 3000-4000 calories a day!
