Some women seem to eat and eat and stay skinny as a rail - there’s not much that can be done about it, and I’m surprised your doctor doesn’t see that. As already mentioned, though, as long as you are eating, then your baby should be just fine, regardless of the fact that you may be a little underweight, yourself.

Answer #4

You say you “… eat soo much!! …”, . so may I ask: what is your current intake in calories ? ( I assume you do know ).

You might contact a local dietician, Douala, or Midwife. They might have some suggections for suppliments or healthy foods you could incorporate into your diet, just to be sure you are getting enoungh nutrients.

[ * ] . You (and your boyfriend) may think that 2000 cal per day is adequate, but I do not, and clearly your Doctor does not either. . 2000 is fine for an overweight adult who is actually trying to lose weight in order to get down to their ideal healthy weight, but I suspect that you are already below your ideal weight otherwise your Doctor would not be concerned about it. . 2000 calories will almost certainly seem like a lot of food if you are eating the low calorie healthy foods recommended for losing weight (like fruit, vegetables and salads) but it is not enough to main healthy growth of a young girl of 17 who has not yet attained her full stature.
. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for a girl your age is 2200: . http://funadvice.com/r/3ltr5v9q41 . But on top of that you now have to supply the nutrients required for your unborn child to develop and it is recommended that after 3 months of pregnancy your dietary intake (for the remainder of the pregnancy) should be increased by 300 cal per day: . http://funadvice.com/r/bpca6aik5 . giving a total of 2500 cal per day. . Please, take your Doctors advice - you are at the moment almost certainly damaging your own health and that of your unborn child. Your body will quite possibly be “leeching” nutrients from its own structure in order to build the structure of your child. If for instance you are not getting adequate calcium for both of you, your bones will be being weakened in order to build your baby’s sketletal structure, increasing your own likelyihood of getting osteoporosis (and deformity like a “hunchback”) later in life. . To put it into perspective: you should be eating about the equivalent of a full microwave ready meal per day on top of what you are already eating. .
