Do you like my poem?

Here is yet another poem of mine, that I had to do for school. Could you give me your opinions on it?

I can see the deep blue ocean. I hear children laughing, playing in the shallow waters. I can taste salt, whilst I lick my lips in anticipation. Anticipation for what? I do not know. I have been through hardships that no-one could, would know. I am old, but I can still smile at childrens laughter. I remember my birth, and all through my life. I am afraid of being barred, of people forgetting. I dream of being explored, of being discovered even deeper. I once heard secrets spoken in whispers. I do not understand pain or death, as I cannot experience either. I am beach.
