Do I have the right?

Ok so I have a really screwed up family here in california and I’ve been with the same boy since I was 13 and he recently moved to tennessee im really close to his family like I used to live with them basically when they were in california. We recently were engaged before he found out his grandmother died in tennessee and left him a gorgeous house and a business to take over. Am I allowed to move to tennessee with no parental permission?

Answer #1

this depends on your age and laws of the state of california.. where I live, you can move out anytime after you turn 16 years old and the cops can’t touch you, if youre under 16 and move away from home without your parents approval, and if they get the cops involved, the cops can drag you back home (unless social assistance is involved becuase of problems within the home of the family,.. like abuse)

all the info above is the laws of newfounland in canada.. every state and province is different. but to me, you sound old enough to move out with no problem, seeing as that you were engaged with your boyfriend and he’s now helping run a business. Chances are, you can leave to go with your boyfriend and your parents can’t do a thing about it.
