Do all dogs get gassy when they eat meat?

My dog eats a lot of meat, and it makes her really gassy! and it smells.

Answer #1

I think it also depends on the fat content of the meat. A fatty piece will likely cause more gas, or at least that’s what I’ve noticed in my dogs.

Answer #2

it just depends on what their stomach can handle. I have 2 golden retreivers and I knw they can handle only certain foods before their stomach gets upset.

Answer #3

OH GAWD YES!! I live in Montana, and deer hunting season starts in October…for that whole month, you can’t hardly sleep with a dog in the room…and you wouldn’t dare light a match…LOL…

Actually, it’s the shock to the system of raw meat after eating processed dogfood, that causes the gas…many people feed raw, but they slowly transition a dog over to the raw food…If you’re feeding her raw all the time, and she still has gas, I’d look over the diet and make a few changes…like editor said…maybe the proportion of fat is too high.
