How do I get my dog to eat dog food?

If you can, put the cat food somewhere he can’t reach it, and discipline him for eating the cat poop. You have to train him that he can’t eat it. Eventually, he’ll start eating his dog food - a dog will not allow himself to starve.

I had the same problem, what I did was out like a peace of chicken at the bottom of the bowl the covered it with dog food so the dog would have to eat thru the dog food to get to the chicken he finally started eating his food

But he will throw up due to suck immediate change.

Slowly mix dog food in with the cat food and eventually after like 3 weeks of mixing it just give him dog food

… if the cat poop isn’t making him throw up already.

Have you tried giveing him differant dog food? Most times if you take the other foods away, meaning the cat and people food, when he is hungry he will eat it. Maybe try mixing a little bit of can dog food in hin regular and everyday put less and less can food. Good luck

Cats can jump up on tables so what we did (with my mum’s dog and my cat when the dog ate the cat food) was put the cat food up on a tall small table with a chair so the cat could boing up onto the chair and onto the table for his food and the dog couldn’t get it. Make sure the cat knows his food is up there though lol. Then just make sure the dog doesn’t get hold of any human food and it will get hungry so it will eat it’s own food. Keep showing him his food and eventually he’ll have to eat it cause he’ll be hungry. You could try switing brands/flavours of dog food to find one he likes.

You could try giving your dog different dog food? You don’t want to try force feeding your dog by making it eat food it clearly doesn’t want.. Just each time you buy more food but a different one & see what your dog likes the most :-)

start off by mixing it with table food!

but my stupid grandfather will put the cat food down. And cat food is not healthy for this dog. And we do put it on a counter.

but my dog will just move the dog food and eat the chicken. Hes smart he knows what were doin.

Cat poop to dogs is the same cat food in a bag. We scold him but he never listens. He does it anyway.

you cant feed certain things to dogs it hurts their digestive system.
