What dishes would go well with chili?

I”m cooking tonight and I want to make chili but I don’t know what else would go well with it to make a meal. I was thinking chili, cornbread, cheese fries? But it doesn’t seem like a real meal to me, more like a combination of delicious fatty food lol. So do those 3 things sound good or should I do a dif combo? I’m def sticking with chili though.

Answer #1

Chili is generally a meal in itself and doesn’t really require too many accompaniments, but you can try tortilla chips, garlic bread, and maybe some corn on the cob.

Answer #2

Chili con carne and cornbread is a classic combination. Not sure why this wouldn’t seem like a meal. If it is really spicy chili than consider serving with something to cool the fire like guacamole or avocado slices.

Answer #3

Maybe a grilled cheese and/or grilled hash browns…

Answer #4

I think salad and cornbread go good with it

Answer #5

Cornbread, chips, grilled cheese, hot dogs, etc.

Answer #6

grilled cheese, garlic bread, or nachos :)

Answer #7

Warm sourdough buns with margarine on them. And A salad of sliced tomatoes and Queso Fresco, drizzled with a light sauce of your choice. Frito chips to top off the chili. And dessert!

Southern Banana Pudding

2 cups cold milk 1 pkg. (4 serving size) JELL-O Banana Cream Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling 1 (8 ounce) container COOL WHIP Whipped Topping , thawed 30 vanilla wafer cookies 3 bananas, sliced

Directions:

  1. Pour milk into large bowl. Add pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes. Let stand 3 minutes. Gently stir in 1-1/2 cups whipped topping.
  2. Place 10 of the cookies on bottom of 2-quart serving bowl. Top with 1/3 of the bananas and 1/3 of the pudding mixture. Repeat layers ending with pudding mixture. Cover with remaining whipped topping.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Or you can just buy a slice of cherry pie and that’ll do just fine.

Answer #8

Cornbread. Hotdogs’. Also, we did this when I was little, you pour a bag of dip freetos over the top and eat them like that. You can also add sour cream and cheese to improve the chili itself.

Answer #9

Chili and Cornbread is great. Or French bread. And a nice glass of cold milk. I think I need to make chili this weekend…..
