How can I keep collectors off my back?

i have several debts since i became disabled. i have been getting repeated phone calls i have gotten 3 calls within a week. i know there is no way for them to take anything from me.(i dont have any thing anyway), but is there a way for them to stop or limit their calls. im not sure if i can even afford payment arrangements. or is there a consolodation program that i could pay $25-50 a month to keep these collectors at bay? i know they are just doing their job, but it is not helping my health issues, only making things worse.

What you could do is check with your local county for Consumer Credit Counseling or something similar. This agency may be able to consolidate your bills and allow you to make one payment monthly to be applied to your outstanding bills. You may want to call them and see if you are qualified to apply for their program.
