Is it a good idea for my cousin to start smoking to lose weight?
she losing weight a good enough reason to start smoking she says she knows so many people who smoked and lost weight :S
your cousin is right that people loose weight when they smoke but you should remind her that it also kills 443,000 Americans every year and every 6.5 seconds some one dies from smoking. Tell your cousin to try and loose weight some other way. But don’t tell her that she wont loose weight by smoking because that will make her want to prove you wrong and she will probably start smoking. Hope it helped, good luck xx
yeah, in my nutrition class we just learned that smoking only raises your metabolism slightly, burning about 5 extra calories per day. Pretty much the same as deep breathing exercises, which can help curb your appetite if you do them correctly. Its a waste of time and money. jump up and down 10 times and you burnt more calories than smoking for an entire day. plus you’ll live longer. my gram died from cancer that started in her lungs (from smoking), and eventually spread to her brain.

It does work in a way, but so does exercise and it won’t cost you as much or cause your lungs to fill with tar. I agree with the above two answers. It’s a stupid idea. There are so many other and better ways to improve your health AND lose weight, smoking shouldn’t be an option.
i have heard alot people say that their cigerette was their big mac. smoking doesn’t make you lose weight unless you are smoking instead of eating more. Irene is right it shouldn’t be option to lose weight, and thats a dumb reason to start smoking. you just shouldn’t smoke, its very addictive and hard to quit. trust me i have a family of smokers.
Starting to smoke is never a good idea.
People who stop smoking often start eating sweets instead (as “replacement satisfaction”, whenever they feel like they want a cigarette). That’s why people gain weight when they stop smoking.
But a non-smoker who starts smoking will hardly ever lose weight. Unless they eat a chocolate bar every hour and replace the chocolate bar addiction with a cigarette addiction instead. Sadly, most chocoholics who start smoking will have two vices afterwards - cigarette addiction and additionally chocolate addiction. Which will result in being a fat smoker in the end. :-(
Smoking does u no good. It wont make u loose weight ive smoked for 4 years and it has done me no good on weight
