does the college expect you to member what u learned in high school?

anyways i didnt focus in high school AT ALL and especially social science, humanities and i just got my classes fot college and i have socail science, humanities, and gov./econ i cant member ANYTHING. are they gonna re teach us everything like they did in high shcool or do they expect us to know about those classes.

Answer #1

yes they do and they expect you to know more then wat was taught

Answer #2

It definatly helps if you actually paid attention and remember the things you learned prior to college. You can make it if you dont though, you will just have to work harder and pay attention. College cost money…its not like highschool…if you dont pay attention and do the work your throwng money and opportunity down the drain.

Answer #3

so they dont teach the basic they jump to the hard level since we learned the basics in high school?

Answer #4

ahh gotta study more then

Answer #5

In college you can take prerequisites which are basically refresher corses, they have you take a Compass test which helps tell them where you need to be placed. Prerequisite cost money but will make your chances of getting through college way higher :)

Answer #6

They will most probably recap the basics in a few lessons but it definitely pays to listen in classes. You may not understand some new work because you don’t fully grasp the basics. Maybe you could think about getting a tutor? If you fall too far behind they might put you back a year.

Answer #7

yeah i did lol and i am starting from pre algebra lol and elementary english.. prerequisites ..to work my way up right?

Answer #8

i didnt even take chemistry or physics in high school just biology and social science and i HAVE chemistry as my general requirements for college..i dont even know the meaning of elements lol

Answer #9

You should find a tutor.

Answer #10

Are you in college taking them? cause after you take those classes (unless you tested at college level) you can move onto college classes.

Answer #11

ahh this is so screwed up if i get a tutor i have to postponed my classes and be on the waiting list again

Answer #12

yeah i am in college lol but since i scored low on the placement test i have to work my way up and starting from pre algebra and elementary english

Answer #13

Okay see those wont give you college credits but they will prepare you for college. No worries at all you’ll be all prepared by the time your actually in college level classes.

Answer #14

You could go to class as usual and have tutoring after school. The tutor doesn’t have to be a professional tutor or teacher, I’m sure an older student that has excelled in the subject would like to tutor you. It will help with your education and the other student would have a little extra money each week. A win-win situation!

Answer #15
