Coccidia

my pup has coccidia and he recently recovered from parvo. he has been on albon for 6 days when will the diarrhea stop? I’m feeding him rice mixed with lean ground beef. he is eating and playing normally.

he seems to be okay now. bowels have solidified (not completely yet) he is back on his kibble and is active, active, active! Thank you both for your advice. I’m a new puppy owner and it is hard to find answers to all the questions. Thank you so much

It may take longer to kick the Coccidia since he’s just recovering from Parvo, …keep him on the rice and burger and Albon, and keep in communication with your Vet. His immune system is compromised, and the Albon will get rid of the Coccidia. It may end up that the Coccidia is gone, and the loose stools are residual from the Parvo.

It made me feel good reading this…that you’re taking such GOOD care of your baby!!!

I agree with Phrannie, keep in communication with your vet and let them know of any changes that may seem wrong.
