Co worker situation

How should I ask my ex-co worker out?, I only got to say hi once! (keep reading…)? I only worked at this place for a month (I had to quit because of school), I only got to say hi once but I did notice that anytime that the guy came close to my desk or when I went to his department, we’d make eye contact/smile @ each other, BUT he works with about 8 people, they all sit in this little office and make copies, etc.. so basically never had a time alone with him. I have to return the key this friday but once I do I won’t have access to his floor, also, if I do get to see him after I turn why key in, it would have to be after he gets off work, but since I don’t know whether he drives or rides the bus, I can only wait in the lobby of the building, how should I start a conversation?.

Things to consider:

  1. his co-workers might be with him when he gets off the elevator
  2. I don’t know if he has a girlfriend
  3. I only have a few seconds to start conversation with him
  4. I only have 2 days left

A friend suggested to fill out a subpoena form and for the title put: Brody & “ME” v. the chance of having a great time

for case number fill out the date of the date

location: where we should go

etc.. then have someone deliver it to him.. the problem is that his co-workers (who handle the mail) see the envelope or receive the envelope, they will all be wondering what it is… and when they find out , (btw, I happen to have some classes at my university with one of them and I also happen to have dated the same guy as one the girls) he might get in trouble…

so any ideas???, how should I ask him out? or make conversation? should I send the subpoena? ideas???, thoughts???

Haha this sounds fun. I think the subpoena thing is cute, but he might miss what it really means or that his co-workers might wreck it.

I say start a convo with him when you see him before or after you return the key… whenever it happens. Smile and say hey, and say something like “Guess you wont be seeing me anymore” to pique his curiosity and to reel him into a convo. Tell him you wont be working there anymore. Watch his reactions to you.

Go with the flow of the convo, and if he seems like he’s in a hurry (or you can act like you are for a good convo-stopper before things start seeming awkward), say that you’d love to catch up with him for some coffee sometime. This could be the defining moment, he might show his real interest or if he’s already have a girlfriend waiting at home. If he’s cool with it, exchange numbers, and leave with a smile and a wave. If he’s not that keen, take it like a champ, at least you gave it a go! Good luck!

P/s: If he’s got his co-workers with him after coming out of the elevator, ignore them, and some guys can take a hint that their buddy’s getting some female attention, and will usually disperse. If they don’t act like they’re invisible!
