well heres the thing, you have to put everything into perspective. first of all whether you believe or dont, everyone has an opportunity to learn about Jesus. Its up to you whether want to accept him as your savior. Also whether you believe or dont when you die you dont automatically go to heaven or hell, you’re basically waiting for God to come back . When the rapture occurs the dead will rise first that are going to heaven and then the people that are still living will transform and will go to heaven. After the rapture, thats when all hell will brake lose on earth. Money will have no value, there will be a antichrist in government and you will be forced to take the mark 666 on your hand or head and that will be the only way you can buy or sell. If you dont take the mark you will beheaded. That tribulation will go on for 7 years. If you get left behind you can have another chance to get to know God and turn it around, but you’ll be on the run for your life. If you get caught and dont take the mark, you’ll get beheaded but if you gave your life to christ you will instantly go to heaven. if you do take the mark then you will go to hell, because by submitting shows you have no faith in God. when times are good or bad you should always express your faith in God and that he will pull you through anything. Also do remember, not all people that claim to be christians are going to heaven. You will have pastors that dont make it to heaven because they are not preaching the right word. You will have people go to church every sunday but wont go to heaven. There are some people that lost faith because when they would go to church they would see other so called christian sin and still go to church and praise God. But what people fail to realize you are not going to church for others you are going for God and yourself. What other people do is between God and them. Let God worry about what they do. And we also must not forget we all sin, so when we someone else sin, doesnt mean to give up and say whats the point. The point is to have eternal life. And no one is perfect and we all need to learn to forgive and sometimes when we are strong to help the weak. Also please know that it is very important to find someone close to home you feel you can trust in giving you great advice and help lead you in the right direction. If you have a church you should attend and always regardless read a bible to confirm what the pastor is preaching. Remember they are human too and are not perfect. Also too in some life situations if you have a question dealing with God you should look it up in the bible. I normally always look at the index cause its easier and sometimes I’ll come across things that might pertain to me and it gives me goosebumps on how it relates to me or things that happened in my life. Also when you attend church and if the pastor is preaching sometimes it will feel like hes speaking directly towards you. If you been in church and dont have good vibes or feelings I personally reccommend you finding another one. Even if you attended there for a long time or your family or friends go there. The most important thing is that you learn about God and build a realtionship with him. Your friends or family cant pray you to heaven, its up to you if you want everlasting life with God. One more thing too, I personally didnt comprehend the regular bibles with the wording and the small print so I went to a chrsitian book store and found a bible that I could easily read and comprehend much better. To get to know God better you should surround yourself around others that already know him.

It’s Pascal’s Wager, and if it’s the only reason why you choose to believe, then you’re believing out of fear as opposed to faith - which, in my opinion, will not bode well in the eyes of god.

I, however, do not fear hell…it does not exist in the manner made out by the concept of god, and therefore, I choose not to force myself to believe in god.

I do believe a realm of hell exists, but it is not god who chooses to put you there - it is karma.

Answer #3

It’s like this…

-If Christians are right, the worst thing that can happen is going to hell. -If Christians are wrong, the worst thing that can happen is nothing. -If Atheists are right, the worst thing that can happen is nothing. -If Atheists are wrong, the worst thing that can happen is going to hell.

At least that’s what I think :P…

Answer #4

What if Christians are wrong, and Muslims are right?

Its so pathetic that they’re NEVER able to think of that… there ARE other religions that exist besides their own. Maybe the Hindus are right…

Answer #5

captainassassin, most christians DO wonder if other religions are true and theirs is false. besides, there are misguided people in ALL religions, not just christianity.

Answer #6

lol tiggerpoooh!

uhm, but by your theory, you assume that one can simply choose to believe something… it is not a choice to believe something, no matter what I do, I cant make myself believe in hell… I can say I believe in hell, but what’s the point of that if God can read minds?

also, your assumption is based on the fact that your religion is right… what happens if one of several thousands other religions are right? your odds of being right are about the same as anyone elses…

Well fau thats a VERY good question! I am personally a christian and being one obviously means I belive in God and Jesus. :) I dont like bashing others religons. BOO BIBLE BASHERS!!! X( Buddism has a few truths to it like kindness and so forth as well as many others. Just not all believe in my God. At my school there is a boy who is VERY into philosphy and has tried to diesect the Bible and FAILED! So that speaks in its self.

Through my life I've had VERY tough times and if I didnt have my God to lean on I would have discentigrated to nothing. And the way I run about (like running into a wall 3 times and wondering why its still there) there has GOT to be something out there that is keeping me from getting myself stupidly killed. X)

most christians DO wonder if other religions are true and theirs is false.

I’m talking about the ones (here) who parrot Pascal’s Wager… which is the basis for THIS thread… which is about Christianity vs. EVERYONE ELSE (according to the title).

That’s the problem with Pascal’s Wager: it proposes that either the Christian God exists… or NO god(s) exists… which is a narrow and stupid way of looking at things.

And I’ve yet to hear a Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc. defend their beliefs from such an angle… only the Christians…
