What would cause my cell phone to not keep time?

Well sometimes when I look at the clock on my phone and then look at the clock on my cable box, they won’t b the same time, it doesn’t happen always, just wondering wat wud make it do that

ohh, my phone does that sometimes, i don’t really know what makes it do that. do you throw it and/or drop it alot? you could try turning it off then back on it when it does that; thats what i do and it goes back to normal or you could wait a few minutes and it should go back to normal if not you should do what i mentioned before this. that can also be a sign of it breaking because my last phone did that and other things before it broke.

Well I have never thrown it and have only dropped it like twice and I have had it a yr so that’s good, and when I turn it off and back on sometimes it will have the right time and sometimes it won’t :-/

what kind of phone is it? like a touch screen, keyboard, one of those flip ones or like one of those track ones or whatever they’re called? you’ve had it for a while so it could be breaking but im not sure on that one! does it do anything else? my phone did that, randomly shut off and i could hear people when they called me right before it stopped working.

I have a motorola cliq and its a touchscreen and a slider phone, I think I may need a new phone, it does shut off every once in a blue moon

touch screen phones can be very sensitive even if you like drop it only once, you probably do need a new phone soon because mine started out as only shutting off every now and then, i hope everything works out for you though!

U should auto update ur cell

Mine will be off by quite a bit if it cannot connect to a tower. If I get “No signal” for even 20 minutes my phone can be off by as much as 10 mins :P. Whatever is supposed to keep time in the phone when it isn’t auto updating form the tower doesn’t work worth crap in my Razr.
