Answer #6

You get Carpal Tunnel from very different kinds of activity. Think of why it’s called ‘tennis elbow’, holding onto a racket very tightly for a long period of time. Unless you squeeze the neck of your guitar as tightly as you can whenever you play it, I doubt you can get carpal tunnel.

Answer #7

Carpal tunnel has a lot more to do with the muscles of the wrist than that of the hand. That’s why it’s called ‘tennis elbow’. Mostly because that’s the cause it’s most familiar with, holding onto a racket, very tightly, and swinging it around all day. It’s very trying on your wrists and forearms. The only way I can see you getting carpal tunnel from playing guitar is if you squeeze the neck of your guitar as tightly as you can whenever you play it.

Answer #8

i know what carpal tunnel is..lol..i wouldn’t ask a question if it would be idiotic for me to ask..i know it has to do with your muscles around your wrist..but playing the guitar has to do with a lot of wrist movement as well..especially when changing chords constantly…and considering i do play alot..my wrist aches bad..not only my hand muscles..actually my hand muscles dont even hurt..just my fingers and wrist..so this is why im asking the question..
