Hi,

I do not know your parents’ custody agreement…but if the agreement does not let you legally live with your Dad, you can become emancipated by the court. Emancipation from your mother would allow you to have your father as your sole guardian. However, it would mean that your mother could no longer help you financially in the future–you have to prove you can support yourself.

Dear yasmine1359, There is no way you can do this without your mother permission. She probably has full custody of you. They would both have to go back to court to alter the custody agreement. If mom isn’t for this and if there is no abuse at home you must stay where you are for the time being. If your father wants you to move in with him have him speak with her…they could agree on summer holidays, or extended periods of visits unless there has been an order from the courts against your dad. Sue…good luck
