BETTA FISH (FIGHTING FISH) too cold...

I don’t know what to do with my Betta, he’s brand new and I got told I didn’t need a heater but now I found out hes not happy because hes too cold. I dont think there is a small enough heater for my tank that I have him in though which is the problem. It is a 5.7litre tank. Any comments would be appreciated :) PLEASE HELP! I DON’T WANT HIM TO DIE!

When I kept Bettas the smallest aquarium heaters I could find were for 10 gallon tanks. This was a problem for me because I kept a betta at work in a small tank and they turned the heat off nights and weekends. People say that Bettas don’t require heaters because they can usually survive cooler temperatures than other tropical fish but they really should be kept around 75F.

Now there are heaters for mini-aquariums (2-10 gal). If your local pet shop doesn’t carry them you may need to shop around or buy online.

I remember when my fish got extremely cold… we thought he wouldn’t make it.. heat up some water, but not too hot.. put some cleaner stuff in it also, and if you have a heating pad, hold that up to the tank. also, only put a little water in at a time, you dont want to kill him. it helped for my fish, maybe it will for yours too.

Place him in the warmest room of your house. If that doesn’t work, amazon.com has some. Look for them, they are flat looking. (Black too)

But what do you mean by a little bit of heat?!
