how do i come up with a beginning for a story??

i’ve written what probably evens out to 5 books over the years, but i can’t come up with the beginning >.< any ideas?

Answer #1

ive read books when the start of the book was the end… so a death at the start of teh book and then teh rest of the book tells you why it happened

Answer #2

you can start your book with a letter or diary entry just to make it a bit more interesting before going into the story

Answer #3

for me i introduced my characters, so that the people can understand situations that the character/s will soon face so that they can understand why it happened that way..

Answer #4

I like to start my books on a high note - to drag the reader in, but not give away too much.

Answer #5

As a writer, I can say….don’t think about it. Try focusing on the other parts of the story you have worked out. The opening line always comes to you!

Answer #6

i think the best way ta start a book is like dat pu da end at the start like in the lovely bones it makes it more interesting!

Answer #7

I like to start off with a bang. A fantastic first sentence, then an opening as to what is going on, and then another hook to reel them all the way in. For example, the first line it my book is: “Crap.” Seriously. That’s it. But doesn’t it make you want to read more? After that, I introduce my main character, and set up a scene. Then I let the first main character meet the second, and something awkward or magical happens. From there, I just write the story and let the characters do as they please.

Answer #8

start in like the middle of the plot and then bounce back because then you pull the reader in and make them what to stay… or maybe not the plot but major event that happens during the story then cut off and go to the beginning, cause then the reader is going to look for answers and read more… olol

Answer #9

lol now thats an idea…………xD

Answer #10

Have an epic scene from the beginning of the book where all of the characters are there and they are all about to die or something then over the first chapter introduce all of the characters so the reader can relate to the characters.
